Rebecca & Matthew: Consall Hall, Staffordshire Wedding Video

Staffordshire Wedding Video

Rebecca & Matthew: Consall Hall Gardens, Stoke On Trent

I was Rebecca and Matthew’s wedding videographer a few weeks ago. They chose to hold their ceremony at St Thomas the Apostle in Penkhull, Stoke on Trent. This was the first time I’d ever filmed a wedding at St Thomas’, and I wasn’t disappointed. The church is quite big inside which gave me plenty of room to position cameras to make sure I got the shots I needed. It was also great to be working alongside Gemma Leese Photography again!

Now, before the wedding I’d been told that Rebecca had booked a surprise car to take Matt to the church. I’ll be honest, I was expecting it to be a Ford Mustang, or a VW Camper, but much to my delight it was a DeLorean – YES, the car from Back to the Future!! I was so excited when I saw the car come around the corner at the church, and I can only imagine how Matt must’ve felt when it pulled up outside his house to collect him.

Matt and his groomsmen greeted the guests and everyone got seated inside the church ready for Becky to arrive. The ceremony was beautiful, and Matt’s dad did a lovely reading, which I thought was a niceĀ  touch. After the ceremony we did the confetti throw on the steps of the church and then everyone headed off to the reception venue, Consall Hall Gardens.

This wasn’t the first time I had captured a wedding reception at Consall Hall Gardens, you couldn’t ask for a more interesting venue to get married at. It is a delight to work as a wedding videographer in such marvellous venues. Becky and Matt spent the wedding reception mingling with their guests. All the guests were cheerful and you could feel the joyful atmosphere at the reception. I started shooting the story unfolding as the guests relaxed and mingled. It is a delight to video summer weddings.

It was a lovely sunny day, which I was really pleased about, and meant the guests could enjoy the grounds.

All the guests took their seats after the reception, waiting for the speeches. The speeches were fantastic, you can listen to a snippet of the speeches in their highlight video below. I think having speeches filmed is really important, because when you wake up the day after the wedding you’ll be trying to remember what was said.

The evening party was DJ’d by Matt from AKA Discos – I’ve worked with Matt loads over the last five years, so it was great to see him again!

All in all I had a blast at Rebecca and Matthew’s wedding and I wish them all the best.

Becky & Matt’s review:

“We chose Vision Wave for our wedding on 16th June 2018 and it was one of the best decisions we made for our day. It was a pleasure working with Laura, from our initial enquiry to receiving our final video. Nothing was too much trouble and she was always quick to reply to any questions that we had. On our wedding day Laura was fantastic, she is so natural and many of our guests didn’t realise she was even with us. She put us at ease and it was so nice to have her as part of our day. Our family and friends love the sneak peak, highlights and full video, and we know that we will treasure it for years to come. The quality of Laura’s work is second to none, she is so very talented! Watching the full video Laura has captured so many moments that we never saw, the day went in such a blur and it’s so nice to be able to look back on it. We would recommend Vision Wave in a heartbeat!”
